Born on July 16, 1993, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was raised in Athens, GA, by her parents Roy Twist III and Barbara Twist (Bernotas), later connecting deeply with family roots that included ties to communities like those in Rhode Island through extended networks.

A bright and accomplished young woman, Megan graduated with honors from Prince Avenue Christian School in Athens, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Public Relations from Georgia Southern University, appearing multiple times on the Dean’s List. Her warmth, creativity, and ability to bring happiness to everyone around her left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who knew her.
