In Loving Memory of Bradley Riner of Oak Grove, Missouri
Oak Grove, Missouri – Bradley Riner, a lifelong resident of the Oak Grove and greater Kansas City area in Missouri, passed away on August 9 at 4:50 p.m. His mother, Pamela McGaugh, shared the heartbreaking news: “I lost my son Bradley Riner at 4:50 pm. I will miss you so much! I’m broken.”
Bradley was known to family and friends simply as “Brad” or “Bradley fuckin Riner”—a loyal brother, steadfast friend, and larger-than-life presence whose impact stretched across decades and hundreds of lives in their small Midwest town.
A Lifetime of Brotherhood
Longtime friend Ryan Lloyd captured the depth of their bond in a moving tribute that spanned more than 35 years:
“In your life you will have a few people come through the muck of youth and make it to the other side. You can call them friends, best friends, brothers, sisters, cousins or more importantly family. Bradley Riner was family. He always stuck by my side whether I was right, wrong, difficult or more importantly asleep. (We both had the ability to fall asleep anywhere).”
Their friendship began in childhood amid the close-knit community where “everyone knew everyone.” They reconnected in junior high with a simple head nod that signaled loyalty. In high school, Bradley would stop by Ryan’s job, bum a smoke, and once bought him a carton of Reds—“the blood handshake I didn’t know I made.” From that point forward, Bradley was “the guy in my corner, my brother, my friend, my keeper.”
They shared work travels, grief, the challenges of raising children, and countless everyday moments. Bradley lived fully in the present, often teasing Ryan about unfinished projects (“He always rode my ass about finishing that truck”) while embracing life with more fun than most. Ryan closed with a fond, familiar memory: “Bradley! Stop pushing that hay bale in the pond. Brad, my family loves you… Love you brother.”
Shawn Riley Vance added his own words of love and farewell: “I love you bro you’ll be missed greatly. I hope you finally find some peace. Now until the rest of us time’s up. You and Shane give ’em some hell up there and we will all see each other again someday. LOVE YA BRO. RIP: Bradley Riner.”
A Life That Touched Many
Bradley’s story is one of deep roots in Oak Grove and the Kansas City region of Missouri. He was the kind of person who showed up—through thick and thin—for the people he called family. Friends remember his protective nature, his humor, his ability to live in the moment, and the quiet ways he supported those around him over more than three decades.
While formal details of services and a complete obituary from a funeral home are still forthcoming, the outpouring of love from those who knew him best already paints a clear picture: Bradley Riner left an indelible mark. His loyalty, laughter, and presence will be carried forward in the stories and memories of the many lives he touched.
The family expresses profound gratitude for the support, messages, and prayers during this difficult time. Those wishing to honor Bradley are encouraged to share a favorite memory, reach out to the family, or simply hold close the lessons of friendship and living fully that he embodied.
Bradley Riner will be deeply missed by his mother Pamela McGaugh, his extended family, and the wide circle of friends who considered him a brother.
Rest in peace, Brad. Your story continues in all of us.
